Feathers, fur and fun

Feathers and fur add to the opulence of Aut/Wint 2012.  I must state right now that I do not agree with the use of real fur but I think these days that message is supported by most so I will move on. Fur has made an appearance in psychedelic colours, bright fuchsias, acid yellows and intense purples.

Celebrating Winter

Outerwear this season is a gift to all body shapes and sizes; there seems to be a vast array of styles, cuts and colours and all personality types are addressed. Marvellous!

All ladies with a soft, round body shape will delight in the new elegant, voluminous, boxy coats in soft fabrics and gorgeous colours.  My all time favourite must be this stunning coat by Jill Sander but at £2,820 it will remain a dream for most. However, there are many similar garments out there.

Louis Vuitton has loved the triangle or the original pear shaped lady.  Look how his elegant jackets fall below hip level, skimming the bottom and stream lining the shape.  Similar cuts can be found on the high street.

Rectangular shaped bodies and those with strong shoulders (inverted triangles) will suits the designs initiated by Maxmara(for one).Rectangles and inverted triangles are looking for straight clothing lines, uncluttered and strong. Military styles coats do this job perfectly particularly if they have extra detail on the hips in the form of pockets or added fur trim. i have found these lovely garments on the high street.

Dior has truly flattered all hourglass figures and the petite columns with their exquisite belted jackets and coats. Notice how they have adapted this voluminous coat with the addition of a belt.Petite hourglass types need to make the most of their curves and columns need to create a little extra! These are the coats that I have found for you.

If you have a more full or curvaceous hour glass figure look for similar designs but with less structure.  Softer fabrics that flow are a must for you.

This is exactly why this season is so exciting; every one can find a coat that suits!  Just a little note: if you buy your winter coats in the palest of colours it will take you into next season. Spring/summer 2013 features beautiful wool oversized coats in pastel shades.  Sometimes determining your own body shape can seem a little daunting and confusing so please don’t hesitate to call me on 07725 465 339 if you would like help or more information.  Many thanks Bridget.
