Hares and Graces Whaley Bridge

It is great to see small, independent boutiques creeping onto our high streets in Derbyshire and today I spotted Hares and Graces in Whaley Bridge.  It caught me unawares as it is just a little outside the general run of shops, on the home straight towards Tescos!  Parking was easy however as you can pull up anywhere on that particular stretch, not a yellow line in sight.

The shop is beautifully presented with a rather wacky and uplifting wallpaper featuring large hares.  Grace, the owner, is selling at present, Joules, Spooks, Aigle, Hunter and Le Chameau (see wellies worn by Kate Middleton).  Are you thinking this is all a bit ‘horsey’?  I think you would be wrong.  The Spooks jackets on show make excellent, stylish rainproof items for walking the dog and the Hunter wellingtons and shoes are all made to last and heaven knows we need attractive rain gear in Derbyshire!

I was very impressed with the plaid trench coats by Aigle in stock, definitely worth a look and not badly priced at £190.00.  If you are used to buying Joules on line then the items in the shop seem somewhat limited in variety but I am sure this will increase as we all support Grace.  I bought a playful striped top and appreciated being able to try on before purchasing; returns postage is unfortunately a costly business in 2013.  A few items were marked at ‘£10.00 off’ and so you may get your coverted Joules coat or gilet at a bargain price.

According to Grace the new Joules Autumn/Winter wear will arrive in four weeks so I would nip down and take a look.
