I am waiting for Spring and lazily weighing up the trench coat options.
There are some fabulous designs this year. Hobbs provide the traditional trench coat in some absolutely stunning colours
whilst Toast have a trench that will happily sit over a woolen layer.
My favourite is this little coat from ME+EM. The three-quarter length sleeves allow for a flash of colour at the wrist
When work requires a certain dress code things can all too soon become just a little boring – a shirt is essentially a shirt after all….. or that is what I thought until I discovered the Em&Me range of shirts.
These work shirts for women are masterpieces of compromise – they combine the crisp formality of the workplace, with sharp collars and cuffs, and yet maintain an ingenious feminine softness with the used of fluid viscose jersey.
In an odd way, they remind me of wearing school uniform whilst adding an individual touch – femininity breaking through the confines of rules and regulations!
I particularly like this double layer shirt. It is very flattering for all who do NOT possess an hourglass shape; lovely for columns or rectangle shapes.
The jersey fabrics used are flattering for the hourglass shape as they drape to the soft contours and the colours are just divine. Why wear white when these tender blush and grey colours are available?
For those of you who require a definite show of dazzling white (perhaps you are a clear colour type) then this pleated bib design is certainly less than boring.
With all of these shirts detail is of the essence. This particular shirt has been designed with a longer cuff to add interest when layering.
I have decided that Spring/Summer is just round the corner, despite what the weather may be saying. It is sleeting yet again here in the spa town of Buxton!
I intend to brighten your day with a little selection of summer dresses from Phase Eight. They all look so beautiful in reality and I hope these images do them justice.
I saw this particular dress in the John Lewis store and my heart sang. It so reminded me of Spring with the green and just a touch of colour. It would look lovely in late spring with a little cashmere cardigan.
This little dress has all the vibrancy of Summer. If you happen to be a typical pear or triangle shape then this dress would suit very well. It falls flatteringly from a highwaisted band; the skirt is just full enough to hide slightly awkard hips and thighs without being too full.
An inverted triangle shape, where the shoulders are more prominent requires a lighter approach on the neckline. This stripy maxi dress would be perfect.
I so love the lacy look that is around at the moment. This fabulous long sleeved dress is simple and elegant relying on the fabric alone for interest and elegance. It is just perfect for a more apple type lady.
The sleeves are a god send to all who are not so comfortable with their upper arms. The lace of the fabric gives an airy, lightweight feel – perfect for the summer. Wear it with flats or heels.
For a slender little column shape I really do like this navy and white dress. The detailing and tucks add plenty of interest and ‘susbstance’. As a column myself I sometimes do feel better with a little added susbstance!
And last, but not least, this is the ultimate summer dress – perfect for all hour-glass ladies, petite or full in stature! I want to drink afternoon cocktails in this but unfortunately the cut is just not for me..
For the most comprehensive wardrobe opt for simple colour combinations, simple lines and fabulous accessories. I am sure you will love the following earrings, all from net- a –porter.com.
