Party time. Celebrating knitwear in Buxton Derbyshire

I love a cosy, intimate party and that is exactly what we had at the Makepiece Open Day on 29th August in Buxton Derbyshire.  All the new Autumn/Winter garments were on display, sparkling wine and chocolates tempted the customers (and us) and we had a ball – trying on outfits that took our fancy and posing, a little shyly, for Clare the photographer. I was on hand with colour and styling advice from Cleverbird and the gorgeous Mandy from the Hebden Bridge branch of Makepiece was a sheer force of inspiration and fun.

Trying on the knitwear in Makepiece is a must.  Although they look inviting on the hangers their full beauty is only revealed once they are hugging a body!  I assumed fine knit wear would reveal all unwanted lumps and bumps…. Not so.

It flatters all shapes and sizes.

I tried this stunning combination.

I am not renowned for my curves but I do believe in this photo I seem to have grown a few.

Most, or nearly all garments can be made to fit your size and colours can be interchanged if you have a chat with Beate.

The highlight of the day was a lady of a certain age who wowed us all in a pale lilac number.  She had a cruise in mind when she bought it and had no intention of meeting another lady in the same dress. She was safe with her pale lilac purchase as it was an original.  Most designs are offered in a range of colours – something to suit every colour type.

Pop in, have a browse and a chat with Beate.  She is an effervescent character with a flock of sheep to support the business.
